Why do we offer Board N’ Train services?

               Because we get it.

Dog training is extremely timing consuming.  On average, if you were to train your dog yourself, you will need to put aside at least 1 hour per day just for training.  That’s doesn’t include the time needed to exercise your dog. This can be very difficult for people who work full time, get home late, need to make dinner, tend to the children or are just too tired and want to relax.

With a busy life, it can be too difficult for some owners.

What could take you months if not longer, we can obtain your goals in just a few weeks.

Because we train every day.  We have precise timing and have the knowledge when and how to troubleshoot difficult behaviors.  Not all training works for the same dog. During your dogs stay, we really get to know what works for your dog.  We use our extensive knowledge and experience of training a large range of temperaments and breeds to get the results your looking for.

Training your dog is our full time job.   There is never a day your dog doesn’t get trained several times a day.  In addition to training obedience skills, we exercise your dog daily and work on enrichment such as Agility or Scentwork.  Also, social dogs get free play time in between training sessions with matched playmates.

In our care, your dog gets trained by the best for the best results.

This investment is for the life of your pet.  Once completing the program your dog will be trained.  You just have to follow the program guidelines.

Rock Star Program

Does your dog exhibit behaviors that are making you crazy?
You’re not alone. We’ve worked with numerous dog owners who have the same story, and we’re here to help!

The Rock Star program is perfect for the door dashing, jumping, leash pulling, barking dog that needs to learn how to control their impulses and have great manners so you both can enjoy each other! You can finally have that incredible pleasure of off-leash adventures together, knowing that when you call your dog, they will come running. Imagine no more pulling on the leash, jumping on your guests or just not listening.

Our 3-week program is designed for non-aggressive dogs. Each week is broken down to teach basic obedience, impulse control and household manners using low-level remote collar training. This is a great service for owners needing help controlling their dogs’ energy, maintaining focus and developing reliable behaviors in the home and in public.

The balance of structure, leadership, and affection will ultimately shape your relationship with your dog, and this program addresses it directly.

A 2-3 hour return home session is included at the end of the program:

-basic obedience (sit, down, place, come)
-loose-leash walking (Heeling)
-off-leash training (remote collar) included in all commands i.e. Come, down, sit, place, heel
-leadership protocol (thresholds, waiting for food)

Good Dog, But… Program

This extended 4 to 5-week Dog Training program is for dogs with aggression, reactivity, resource guarding, anxiety, fear, or have bitten other dogs or people. It is essential dogs with these behavioral issues are taken out of their home environment to reset their state of mind, lifestyle, and to begin the rehabilitation process.

These behaviors can be deeply embedded in dogs, which takes time to breakthrough. Utilizing our “pressure on pressure off” methods, we guide your dog through our balanced training course to help create better habits and a healthy mindset.

The work does not stop with us, however. Long-term success comes from the clients’ continued effort in maintaining harmony once back home.

A 2 to 4-hour return home session is included at the end of the program PLUS
A 1-hour private lesson to be used within 7 to 10 days after your pup’s return home. You will come to Columbia County for a special ‘real world’ training walk with us to check to you and your dog’s progress.
